President

Khanh Nguyen

Originally from Vietnam, Khanh is a versatile filmmaker with experience as a writer-director, script supervisor, actress, and singer-songwriter. She currently serves as President of the Southeast Asian Cultural Heritage Society (SEACHS). In 2024, she led SEACHS' first film project, funded by the BC Arts Council, which also marked her directorial debut with the short film "Nepo Baby." Khanh is passionate about amplifying underrepresented voices through her storytelling. Beyond filmmaking, she actively volunteers for the Vancouver Asian Film Festival (VAFF), performs on stage with SEACHS members, and writes original songs.

Lillianne Peterson

With over 20 years of experience in real estate and investment, Lillianne is a powerhouse entrepreneur with a footprint across Canada. A former actress with credits in cult classics like White Chicks and Stargate, she's now making a bold return to the screen—this time behind the scenes. Drawing from her own extraordinary journey, Lillianne is bringing her story to life through “JADE”.

Betty Chau Nguyen

Betty Chau began her journey in music and singing at the age of 5, with piano lessons and singing in the church choir. Under the direction of Mr. Trieu Phu, Ms. Howard Be Kim Nhung, Mr. Luu Tuan, and Mr. Cao Xuan Minh, she performed traditional Vietnamese dance for 11 years in many events in the Greater Vancouver area and Washington state with Me Linh dance troupe, Vietnamese Youth Performers of BC, and La Phong Productions. For the past 14 years, she has been singing, choreographing, mc’ing, and organizing events in the Greater Vancouver area, Chicago, and upstate New York.

Susan Mckenzie

Susan was born and dwells on unceded Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh lands. Dance is her field - currently, she works with Mascall Dance and serves on The Only Animal Board of Directors. Her volunteer work with SEACHS and the Vietnam Education Society is fueled by a love of Vietnamese culture and gratitude for the privilege of being adoptive parents to a daughter born in Vietnam.

Annie Dieu

Born in Vietnam, Annie embarked on a remarkable journey that shaped her into the extraordinary woman she is today. Leaving her homeland at the age of 18 with her parents, brother, and two sisters, Annie's path was destined for greatness. From a young age, Annie's talent and dedication to ballet were evident. Handpicked for the prestigious Ballet School in Ha Noi, she honed her skills and nurtured her artistic passion. The stage became her sanctuary, and her graceful movements captivated audiences. Annie's commitment to preserving and sharing her cultural heritage led her to SEACHS. She leads and teaches traditional dances, ensuring that these rich Southeast Asian traditions are passed down to future generations. Through her dedication and expertise, Annie has become a guiding light, inspiring others to embrace their cultural roots and celebrate the beauty of dance. Annie's journey is a testament to resilience, passion, and the power of art. Her unwavering dedication to ballet and her commitment to preserving her cultural heritage have left an indelible mark on those around her. Annie's story is one of triumph over adversity and a reminder that the pursuit of one's passion can bring joy and purpose even in the face of life's challenges.
